“ What is your authentic leadership style?”
Is your leadership serene and sparkling?
In my coaching practice, I guide professionals in cultivating an individualized and adaptive leadership approach—a way of leading that’s deeply connected to who they are and how they grow through their experiences.
One of the reflective exercises I often propose is this simple yet revealing question:
“What kind of leadership have you been most responsive to in your own career?”
When we think back to the leaders who truly inspired us, we often discover a powerful clue about the kind of leader we ourselves aspire to be.
Perhaps you felt energized, safe, or deeply seen in their presence.
Maybe their clarity gave you focus, or their calm gave you confidence.
What moves us often mirrors what lives within us.
Leadership styles can be as varied as the people who embody them. Beyond well-known categories like democratic, transformational, or servant leadership, the most resonant leadership style is one that feels uniquely yours—a natural expression of your purpose, values, and presence.
Recently, I met a leader whose style quietly radiated a powerful blend of inner calm and inspiring energy. There was no performance, no façade—just presence.
They were deeply grounded, yet they sparked movement in others.
They listened more than they spoke, but when they spoke, people leaned in.
The best way I could describe their style was this: Serene and Sparkling.
It’s the kind of leadership that cultivates trust without effort, and motivates action without pressure.
It invites clarity without control. It brings light—not noise.
Knowing and naming your authentic leadership style isn’t just an exercise in self-awareness.
It’s a way to lead with greater ease, congruence, and impact—especially in times of uncertainty or change.
When you lead from your essence, your presence becomes a force in itself.
So, what about you?
What is your unique leadership essence?
If you could express it in just two words—what would they be?
💭 If you’re curious, try this journaling prompt:
“Think of a moment when you felt most like a leader. What were you doing? How did others respond? Which words describe the energy you brought into the room?”
You may just find your own version of serene and sparkling.
